This is Shel Silverstein's poem Sick!
The standard that this works for is Standard 8, Objective 6b

Digital Stories

I watched a few of my peers digital stories and I thought that they were all awesome! I have a few specific things that I am going to point out about each one.
Ashley Daley-I really liked the idea of the book trailer! I was thinking that this would be a fun way to do a book report or something like that!
Kristen Wagner-I liked the personal side of this story, I think it would be a great way to encourage your students to tell more about themselves in a kind of digital journal!
Nichole Mahas-I liked the idea of setting out the four main points and then giving examples so that the students could see what you were talking about!
Rachael Hamilton-I liked the whole idea of this story! I don't know what curriculum tie it had but I would be interested in learning that so that I could use something like that!
Katie Matthews-I loved the story! I really like how it was connected to her real life in a way and that she used such imagination!
Alyssa Ash-I really liked the story and I think it is awesome that it is an original! I think that students would have a great time writing their own books and then putting them into a video like that!

Web 2.0

This week I made my own wiki page. The URL for the page is http://sites.google.com/site/apageltechnologyintheclassroom/

I learned a lot this week about using several different things on the web. I was able to make my own wiki. I also was able to get signed up on goodreads, diigo, and google reader. I learned how to make a googledoc and how to talk via synchronous webcam. I had a really hard time with trying to start the wiki page when I was trying to do it through pbworks. Once I switched to a google sites it was a lot easier and I was able to do it without too much frustration. I really liked being able to use all the different resources with goodreads, diigo, and google reader. I also really liked the synchronous chat on the webcam, it was pretty fun!

Why I LOVE Education

I love education because I look at it as my way of making a difference in the future of our world. All of the students that I teach will go on with their lives after I teach them but hopefully not before I have had the chance to make a difference in their lives.
I also love how much I am able to learn from the children. I think that they teach me as much, if not more, than I teach them. Children are so wonderful to be around!
